About The Coalition
The Coalition for a Drug Free Nevada County brings together the collective expertise of the community, families and youth to support a community-wide prevention movement to reduce substance abuse among Nevada Counties Youth. The purpose of the coalition is to reduce substance abuse among youth and to establish and strengthen collaboration among communities, nonprofits and government agencies to help prevent substance abuse.
The Steering Committee
The Steering Committee, which is the committee that meets on a monthly basis to oversee the operations of the Coalition, is comprised of representatives from each of these sectors. The Coalition as a whole meets on a quarterly basis. The Coalition has been established to operate on an independent basis, however, Community Recovery Resources acts as the Coalition’s fiscal receiver and provides administrative support services to the operations of the Coalition. Warren Daniels, executive director for CoRR, serves as the Coalition president.
